This day had been a good day. We'd survived the Woodbury attacks and made it out of there, with most of our people in one piece. I was tired, but that was nothing new. I was never one to complain of exhaustion, starvation or one to talk through my feelings or thoughts with the other survivors. But now. Things are different.
We got back to the prison, in a school bus packed with people from Woodbury. People of all ages, there must be at least fifteen of them. I looked around at their faces, they're scared of what the Governor would do next. Me too! Looking all around me, to see the coast was clear, that Lori wasn't there haunting me I took a step forward and attempted to speak to the new comers.
"Before you all get settled in. I just want to take the opportunity to mention that we are not safe. Nor will we ever be safe. Those dreams, the Governor filled your head with. Were pointless and reckless on his behalf. Here, we do things differently. We look out for one another and tomorrow you will all be put through your paces." Looking at them, they weren't too impressed by what I was saying and so I decided to rap this up, quickly for all our sakes.
"If you have a skill set, or area of expertise. Whether it be the cross bow, hand to hand combat or baby sitting. You will all have a role to fill, a job and a purpose. But for now. Eat and get some rest, while you can." Nodding to them, I looked over toward Hershel for some reassurance and when he looked at me. I felt a little comfort from his stern look. credit to Rach.
